Democrat US Senator Bob Menendez and his romantic rhetoric endanger American interests in the South-Eastern Mediterranean Sea. He has disregarded the brutal Greek anti-Americanism and behavior.
During the Yugoslavia crisis, Greece Prime Ministers Constantine Mitsotakis, Andreas Papandreou, and Costas Simits helped the butcher of the Balkans, Slobodan Milosevic. Specifically, Mitsotakis and Papandreou received funds from the USA to promote democracy in the Balkans and aided Milosevic.
Before that crisis, Papandreou assisted Gaddafi on various occasions and received money from him.
Moreover, he has forgotten that Greece, under Papandreou and Simitis, aided the terrorist organizations PLO and PKK.
The American government must see these two misbehaved nation-states as vital to the American interests in the region and thus promote and support pro-western governments in these countries.
Also, the American government must utilize the CIA and destroy the communist element in Greece and Cyprus and the Islamic element in Turkey. Thus, the USA must follow the steps of President Truman and Dr. Henry Kissinger regarding the relations of Greece, Turkey, NATO, and the USA.
Greece is vital to American national interests, but the American government must follow a realist approach to Greece. Lately, Menendez has been in legal trouble due to various lobbyist bribes.
